Spring Fest – Better Together – 2016
Outstanding success benefits Sussex community
With a record number of visitors in 2016, Spring Fest — Better Together again was an outstanding success. Nearly 1,700 visitors, entertainers, vendors and volunteers gathered at Hamilton High School on March 12 for a day of fun and opportunities to learn about the assets of our community.
On behalf of the entire Spring Fest Planning Committee and the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank the many businesses, organizations, students and other volunteers who helped make the event a success. Examples of Spring Fest’s positive impact on the community include:
- Community members were greeted by Chamber directors at the spinning wheel where approximately 1,000 prizes from area businesses were given away.
- Sussex Outreach Services Food Pantry received $525 from the Zumbathon plus $25 and more than 125 pounds of food from the Hamilton National Honor Society food drive.
- The blood drive collected 33 pints of blood for the Blood Center of Wisconsin.
- Some 98 percent of visitors and 100 percent of booth exhibitors said they would like to participate in the next Spring Fest in two years.
Spring Fest is a free event because of generous sponsors from the local community including presenting sponsor Momentum Early Learning and gold sponsors Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin and Sussex IM.
We again proved that “better together” builds community strength, spirit and enthusiasm through genuine collaboration. Thank you to all who supported and participated in Spring Fest 2016.
